Daniel Beattie - More about your host

I am young Mountain Leader starting up in the Pyrenees, a mountain range on the French / Spanish boarder.

Former Fine Art student at Winchester School of Art, I joined the French Foreign Legion in 2000. I was a member of a Para squad specialized in mountain combat and survival. Today I live in the Pyrenees and know all the mountain trekking and hiking routes in my area very well. My combat now is for the environment and the preservation and respect of the natural planet.

I take people up into the mountains and bring them back in one piece. On the way I help them discover the complex and wonderful world of the mountains. I show them the wild animals that roam high above the valleys, the wild flowers and berries, and with a bit of luck we might find some wild mushrooms. 

I share the knowledge and skills I learnt in the Para and at Art School.

I offer a personal service with an emphasis on conviviality, in a relaxing, peaceful and homely environment.
